I think I’m going to start calling this dress the Frankenstein Dress. I used patterns from several different dresses. The one thing I hate the most about constructing dresses is the prep. Drafting the pattern, cutting it out, then marking. But the mock-up is done and marked. I only do a mock-up of the bodice as the sleeves are so much more forgiving. My friend will be here Sunday to help with the fitting. Once fitted the mock-up will serve as the lining for the bodice.
I use tailor tacks for my markings. A little bit more work but I know they won’t disappear during the construction.
